Governor Uzodimma inspects Imo Water and Sewerage Corporation

The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma on 11th January 2022, inspected the operational plant of the Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation located at Egbu road, Owerri and its administrative headquarters along Okigwe road in Owerri, the capital city of Imo State. 

The visit was to assess the level of progress being made at revamping and scaling up the operations of the corporation popularly referred to as the Otammiri Water Scheme Project.

The Governor inspected the newly constructed perimeter fence, rehabilitated chemical building including the restored automatic chemical dosing systems, the newly installed pumping machines, a 5 room staff quarters constructed and equipped with close circuit cameras and street lights to further improve security and protect the multi million naira installations at the facility.

Governor Uzodimma also visited the site of the ongoing reconstruction of the Imo State House of Assembly Complex originally built by Dee Sam Mbakwe of blessed memory, but had been deserted for over two years due to its deplorable state of disrepair. 

Speaking to newsmen after the inspection, the Governor noted that his administration had deemed it necessary to quickly rehabilitate the Assembly complex to standard to enable the members and staff of the Imo State House of Assembly return to a more conducive environment for parliamentary activities.

He expressed confidence in the expertise of Koran-DiResta Construction Company of Manhattan, which delivered the Nigeria House in New York, USA and is currently undertaking the reconstruction of the Imo State House of Assembly. He said the company would deliver to Ndi Imo a world class and befitting House of Assembly Complex projected to be ready by the end of February 2022.
