Air Force War College Nigeria Graduates Command Responsibility Course 9/2025

The Air Force War College Nigeria (AFWCN) on 5 December 2025 held a combined ceremony marking the graduation of participants of Command Responsibility Course 9/2025 and its annual End‑of‑Year Celebration/Sendforth in honour of the immediate past Commandant, Air Vice Marshal NN Ananaba.

The event, held at the College in Makurdi, was attended by senior military leaders and dignitaries. The Guest of Honour, Air Vice Marshal Ananaba, presided alongside the Commandant of AFWCN, Air Vice Marshal GA Mbaka.

Also present were the Flag Officer Commanding Nigerian Navy Special Operations Command, the Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Military Engineering, representatives of the Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command and the Benue State Government, as well as commanders and commandants of co‑located units.

In his welcome address, AVM Mbaka congratulated the participants for successfully completing the four‑week intensive course, which is designed to enhance strategic leadership, command competence and professional excellence across the Armed Forces of Nigeria. He urged the graduates to apply the knowledge and skills acquired as they take on higher command responsibilities.

Highlights of the ceremony included the presentation of certificates to graduating officers and the conferment of Distinguished Fellow Awards on faculty members who had completed their tenure as directing staff. The programme also featured souvenir exchanges, group photographs and a vote of thanks delivered by the Course President.

The sendforth segment celebrated AVM Ananaba for his exemplary leadership and significant contributions to the growth and development of the College. He was also congratulated on his recent appointment as Chief of Air Intelligence at Nigerian Air Force Headquarters. The College further recognised outstanding staff members whose dedication has strengthened its operations.

In his remarks, AVM Ananaba commended the graduates and encouraged them to embody leadership, discipline, integrity and continuous professional development in their future roles.

He stressed the importance of applying the competencies gained to bolster national security and advance the mission of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. He also expressed gratitude to the Commandant and staff for the honour accorded him and reaffirmed his continued support to the College.
