Ganduje Sworn In as FAAN Chairman After Resigning as APC National Leader

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje has been officially inaugurated as the new Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Board.

The swearing-in ceremony took place in Abuja on Wednesday, weeks after his resignation from the ruling partyโ€™s leadership.

President Bola Tinubu had appointed Ganduje to the FAAN role in January. His resignation as APC chairman, announced earlier this month, was attributed to “urgent and important personal matters,” according to party spokesman Felix Morka.

In his resignation letter, Ganduje thanked Tinubu for the opportunity to lead the party and expressed his commitment to supporting the administrationโ€™s agenda. The APC has since named Ali Dalori as interim chairman pending a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to elect a permanent replacement.

Ganduje, who served as Kano State governor from 2015 to 2023, became APC national chairman in August 2023. His new role at FAAN places him at the helm of Nigeriaโ€™s airport management agency, which oversees the countryโ€™s aviation infrastructure and operations.

The inauguration was confirmed by Gbenga Saka, Special Adviser on Digital Media to Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, who shared a video of the event on social media. The appointment comes as the Tinubu administration seeks to strengthen leadership across key agencies in the transportation sector.
