Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dursun Oğuz stated that they are trying to ensure the survival of the producer and said, “We are trying to create an environment where everyone can win.”

Minister Oğuz stated that the water department Asrın project exists, but it has many deficiencies in terms of infrastructure. Oğuz talked about Çakıllı Dere and Kanlı Dere, which are carried out by the Water Works Department, and mentioned that they went out to tender.

Stating that it was underlined that water is always very important, Oğuz said that something should be done about it. Oğuz noted that the two excavators requested from Turkey have also arrived in the TRNC and that the work on the Tatlısu pond has been completed.

Noting that the work to clean the stream beds continues, Oğuz stated that everyone’s aim is to serve the country and work for the future of the country.

Stating that demolitions occurred inside the Famagusta Port and there were problems in Laguna as well, but it was made functional immediately, Oğuz conveyed his thanks to the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and said, “We did not have such a budget.”

Oğuz, who said, “Production is important in every field, but it is not sedentary production, when we look at livestock, there are many expenses, there is an increase in the cost of these expenses”, Oğuz pointed out that the consumer also experiences difficulties when the animal farmer reflects on the product as produced.

Oğuz stated that the TRNC was also having a difficult time as a purchasing power.

Noting that milk prices depend on feed prices, Oğuz said that the producer also sacrificed a certain amount.

Oğuz said, “We are trying to ensure that the manufacturer survives” and stated that there is more production than consumed in the TRNC and that those products must be exported.

Expressing that food prices are very high all over the world, Oğuz noted that a bread is 7 TL, a tomato seedling was 1 TL before the pandemic, but now it is 4 TL.

Oğuz also mentioned that they are working on price stabilization.

Saying, “We are trying to create an environment where everyone can win without making anyone suffer,” Oğuz underlined that he does not normally see carob as a capital, but when he considers it as 3 thousand tons, it has an economic return of 65 million.

Finally, referring to the Mesarya irrigation project, Oğuz noted that this work requires a high amount of investment, but they have started the thickening works and the process continues.
