Nihat Akay, who is a water sports operator at Famagusta Glaspsides Beach, claimed that two UN Peacekeeping Force soldiers were causing a flood on the beach.

Nihat Akay stated that two UN soldiers had an accident in the sea with the jet-skis they rented and turned their vehicles into scrap.

According to YENฤฐDรœZEN, Akay told the following:

โ€œLast Friday, at around 14.00, two UN peacekeepers rented two jet-skis from us. Despite all the warnings we made, they drove dangerously in the sea and crashed twice, sinking the jet-skis.

After the accident, we took both the two people in question and the jet-skis out of the sea. We asked them to cover the damage, so we asked for their identity information. We realized at that moment that they were both alcoholics.

We informed the police at the scene. They got in their vehicles and fled, telling us that we could not touch them in any way. While escaping, they hit my car, which was standing in the parking lot, as well.

We complained about the incident to the UN Peacekeeping Force camp. The persons in question left Northern Cyprus at the Akyar border gate at around 15.30 on the same day. We have material damage of 13 thousand Euros and loss of business.
