PSP operators may suspend services over diesel cost

Some private sector participation (PSP) operators have said that the prohibitive cost of diesel and vehicular spare parts may force them to suspend their services.

“We would be unable to continue to render our services if urgent steps are not taken by Government to revert the rising cost of diesel and vehicular spare parts,” President of the association, Mr. David Oluwasegun Oriyomi said.
“If it is not done on time, the option before Government to prevent the PSP operators from suspending their operations is to permit that we increase our tariffs notwithstanding that they were only increased last year and also increase  waste subsidy for those affected.
“Government needs to come to our rescue quickly before the system collapses.”
