Two arrested as cultists clash in Lagos community

The Lagos State Police Command said it has arrested two suspects following a resumed cult war at Oto Awori, Ijanikin.

Rival cult groups have in the last month engaged in a free-for-all in the Badagry/Ijanikin axis that have reportedly left five persons dead.
Spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement said โ€œnormalcy was immediately restored to the area and no life was lost in clash.
โ€œThe suspected cultists arrested are Taiye Israel, and Isiaka Afeez. Items recovered from them include one axe, some cutlasses, assorted charms and weeds suspected to be Marijuana.
โ€œThe Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the commandโ€™s Strike Team, Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible arrest of other members of the gangs.
โ€œHe further directed the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ijanikin to step up his anti-crime strategies in curbing crimes and criminality, especially cultism, in his area of responsibility.โ€
