CAS commends NAFOWA humanitarian strides

The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao has commended the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) for its efforts towards alleviating the suffering of the women, children and the less privileged in the society. 

He made the commendation when the National President of the Association, Mrs Elizabeth Amao, and other members of the Association paid him a courtesy call. He also praised the National President for her leadership style which he believes is poised to project the Association to greater heights. 



Air Marshal Amao also lauded the Association for its role in raising the educational standards of children of NAF personnel as well as those of neighbouring communities around NAF bases nationwide. 

He also assured the Association of the continuous support of the NAF in the areas of human capacity building and infrastructural development so as to complement their efforts of providing humanitarian assistance to the less privileged.

In her remarks, the National President of NAFOWA congratulated the CAS on his well deserved appointment which she said came at a time the Association was breaking new grounds as it relates to humanitarian efforts nationwide. 

She stated that the purpose of her visit was to familiarize and identify with the current leadership of the NAF as well as intimate the CAS on the Associationโ€™s areas of responsibility. She also used the occasion of the visit to solicit the support of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in the execution of its women and youth empowerment projects across the country. 

While urging the CAS to support the Association in building another secondary school within Abuja metropolis to cater for the less privileged,  Mrs Amao also requested for the renovation of the NAFOWA Multipurpose Hall in Port-Harcourt and the Childrenโ€™s Park in Kaduna.  

She added that her mission for the barracks community and the society was to improve the quality of life of women and youths through the provision of sustainable livelihood opportunities and concrete healthcare system. 

She disclosed that the Association had designed programmes focusing on educating children, empowering women in the society through skills acquisition programmes and giving succour to the less privileged. She therefore expressed appreciation to the CAS for the continuous support and encouragement the Association has been receiving from the NAF. 

Present during the visit were top executive members of NAFOWA and Branch heads from NAF headquarters.
