Over the last one month, I have observed how some virulent Nigerians suddenly became drenched in an unrelenting, combustive and hateful attacks against the American billionaire, Bill Gates.
Worried by this growing atavistic trend, I decided to investigate if there is any known crime the American philanthropist has committed against Nigerians. Though, after much investigation, I couldn’t nail him to any crime.
Seemingly, I started contemplating what Gates might have done to these uncouth atavists who have chosen to drag his name on the mud. Consequently, looking at the warped disposition of their line of thought, the whole scenario invariably appears more like giving an innocent dog a bad name in other to execute it.
Since the out break of corona virus, the entire universe has been on a standstill. Millions have been infected while over 256,551 people have died as a result of the virus. Responsible nations with visionary leaders beyond the shores of Africa are doing the best they can to find a lasting solution to the pandemic but their counterparts in the third world have resorted to the ugly habit of blaming unseen forces for every misfortune.
Millions of Africans more especially Nigerians who can’t even address the issue of malaria and lassa fever have insulted and hurled all kinds of misplaced and bittered abuses on the American billionaire that have spent billions of dollars addressing perennial problems which their clueless and thieving leaders couldn’t attend to.
Apparently confused with what is going on. When you ask many of these Nigerians why they are angry with Bill Gates, one will be completely shocked with the level of incoherent and empty rhetoric that will be presented as some of their reasons for being angry with Gates.
According to them; Bill Gates wants to depopulate Africa with his vaccine which has a microchip. And that he is among the creators of corona virus. His intention is to make billions of dollars from the pandemic before providing the vaccine to the world.
To sum it up, Bill Gates is the anti Christ that was foretold in the Bible because his vaccine which comes with a microchip is designed to enforce the new world order where people won’t be able to transact any form of business without having the chip.
Even so, when one becomes more inquisitive and ask some of these Bill Gates haters to tender verifiable evidence to buttress their unintelligent rhetoric, then it becomes a question of being blind and supportive of a man that wants to depopulate Africa.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH NIGERIANS?
Nigerians are known for blabbing too much and acting less. Let’s put the case of Bill Gates apart. Now, what have we done to help our present situation? Absolutely nothing. A generation that comes from a begging political system! These disgruntled Bill Gates haters hide in their comfort rendezvous to issue threat against a man whose magnanimity has arrested the spread of polio and other diseases in their various villages. A man that has spent fortunes to tackle poverty in a continent that is unconnected to him while their own elected leaders are in a fierce looting marathon. Corona virus is sweeping the entire continent, putting everyone in a state of quagmire with no hope in sight. Instead of discussing the way forward out of this predicament, we are rather engrossed in pointing accusing fingers towards a direction where answers are far fetched.
NIGERIA IS A BEGGING NATION
Most of these Nigerians abusing and threatening Bill Gates over a none existing vaccine are part of the canker worms eating the country into extinction. This might sound so ridiculous but is the blatant truth. You come from a country that begs to survive. Your country begs to finance it’s budget, begs for military expertise, begs for medical support and the last I can remember, they were begging an American billionaire for ventilators when Nigeria as a country has made over $800 billion from the sell of crude oil. Does this border any of these Bill Gates haters?
BILL GATE IS NOT THE PROBLEM
While these bunch of atavistic individuals are running riots on the social media, sensible and patriotic people have gone to help their countries to find an answer to COVID-19. I expected these big and foul mouthed Nigerians to apply the same approach. Instead of screaming Bill Gates this and Bill Gates that, get to work and find an answer to the problem. If we can find a panacea to this virus and others, Bill Gates has no business in this space but unfortunately, a bad workman will always blame his tools. Since the leaders in Nigeria have stupidly refused to invest in education, ignorance will continue to soar to the high heavens.
WE MUST LOOK INWARD
In my previous commentaries, I made it clear that for Africa and Nigeria in particular to make a head way, be it in the field of technology and medicine, there is urgent need to look inward. And looking inward also means believing in our ingenuity and the originality of what we do. Our doctors and scientists does not need to wait for international bodies to sanction any program or project spearheaded by them before it can be seen as genuine. We are the cause of our own problem. Presently, there is a new precedence. Madagascar has received accolades and supports from people across the globe for producing a herbal vaccine for COVID-19. That is a nation with vision and purpose. Madagascar shunned international bodies and scary political mafias to pull such an unbelievable medical stunt but in Nigeria, the story is quite different. Everybody is on Facebook and Twitter hopelessly ranting about a vaccine from Bill Gates that is not forthcoming. A people with a confused purpose.
WE CAN CONSCRIPT BILL GATES OUT OF AFRICA BY SUPPORTING MAURICE IWU.
Even professor Maurice Iwu has repeatedly said he has a cure for corona virus but nobody is paying listening ears to the scientist. If those conspiracy theorists who toxically believe that there is a plan by the American billionaire to depopulate Africa with his microchip vaccine, then this is the time to rise and support Professor Maurice Iwu. Constant pressure should be mounted on the government to bring Iwu on board. He should be given the chance to substantiate his claims. If Maurice has the cure (which I believe he does), we can easily reject and conscript Bill Gates immediately out of Africa. But can this be done?
THE CONCLUSION OF THE WHOLE MATTER
The conclusion of the whole matter is, Bill Gates and the so called vaccine shouldn’t be our problem. The problem we have now are the political elites who have chosen not to do the needful. So whoever that is apportioning blames to Gates is a mischievous miscreant. If our elected leaders will stop looting and hiding our money in foreign banks, upgrade our higher institutions of learning (that will harness our best brains) to be result oriented and more ultimately, adequate enforcement of the rule of law, the likes of Bill Gates will be forcefully conscripted out of Africa. This is a statement of fact.
