The Osun State government said it has moved the three new cases of coronavirus confirmed by the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) at the early hours of Tuesday to State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo.

This was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Ismail Omipidan when contacted by The Nation correspondent on Tuesday.

He said, โ€œthe three new confirmed cases have been moved to our State Specialist Hospital for treatment.

It could be recalled that the Osun government isolated 120 Cote dโ€™Ivoire returnees to the Ejigbo community on Saturday.

Earlier, a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji had on Friday confirmed that 120 citizens of the state were stranded at the border of Ogun State and the government had contacted the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun to grant them access to Osun State through the state route.

It was learnt that the three new cases confirmed by NCDC were the returnees from Cote dโ€™Ivoire on Saturday.

However, the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemonde said she didnโ€™t know whether the new cases weโ€™re from the isolation center in Ejigbo.

She said, โ€œI can assure you that they took all the samples from the isolated people in Ejigbo and the result will trickle in because the laboratory is attending to lots of samples. I canโ€™t confirm whether they are from the isolation center in Ejigbo but as soon as I get the information on that I will inform you.

Also, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu when contacted said, โ€œWhat I was told was that they are returnees whether they are from the United State of America, United Kingdom, Iran or others, I canโ€™t say but they are in isolation center in Asibiaro.
