First batch of pilgrims arrive from Saudi Arabia

The first batch of this year’s pilgrims have arrived in Lagos after completing the Hajj rites in Saudi Arabia.

The 432 male and female pilgrims from Lagos State were on board the Flynas Airbus A330 airline which touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos at exactly 6.08pm.

Many of the pilgrims joyfully expressed their appreciation to the Almighty Allah for giving them the strength to embark on the Holy pilgrimage.

They said that they were highly grateful to Allah for  His mercy and protection which greatly assisted them in the completion of all the hajj rites in both Madinah and Makkah, despite the rigours of the exercise.

Speaking on behalf of the returning pilgrims, the Chairman of the Lagos Secretariat Community Central Mosque, Alausa, Ikeja, Dr. Tajudeen Afolabi expressed their gratitude to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide-Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat for their support and commitment to the welfare of the pilgrims while in the Holy land.

He said that the governor through the State Amiru-ul-Hajj, Dr. AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef and the entire members of Ad-hoc committee of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board ensured that every pilgrims received the best of treatment through the provision of convenient accommodation both in Makkah and Madinah as well as regular spiritual diets and sumptuous meals.

The second batch are also expected n Kaduna via Max Airline.
