Magu Tasks Nigerian Women on Anti-graft War

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has stressed the important roles that women in the country have to play in the fight against corruption, and encouraged them to be more involved in the anti-graft war.


Speaking through the Head, EFCC Ilorin Zonal Office, Isyaku Sharu, at a program organized by the International Women Communication Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, on April 5, 2019, Magu stressed that women were the most impacted by corruption.

He said: โ€œCorruption has been high in both private and public sectors for decades; it has over time impeded on social growth and infrastructural development goals.
โ€œWomen are not just mothers and wives, they also serve as Godโ€™s ordained ministers in their respective homes and institutions.

โ€œWhile all gender suffers from corruption’s weakening of the efficiency, the effectiveness and probity of the public sector, corruption has well known differential impacts on women being its greatest victim.โ€

Earlier, the Coordinator, International Women Communication Centre, Limota Giwa, in her remarks, commended the EFCC, Ilorin Zonal Office for its ongoing fight against corruption.
