The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies over the peaceful conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

The state APC Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Liman, gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Gusau on Sunday.

Liman also commended residents for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner during the election.

“Our people demonstrated they were law-abiding and peace-loving during the poll.

“INEC should be commended for the hitch-free conduct of the poll, even though there were some delays due to the late arrival of materials, but the exercise was very credible and transparent.

“Security agencies have done well in maintaining peace and stability throughout the election,” he said.

Liman also thanked the APC supporters for coming out massively to cast their votes during the poll.

“The participation of our party supporters in the election is very appreciable. In spite of the short notice, we recorded good support from our members.

“This is indicative that people of the state are with the APC, they are satisfied with the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdula’ziz Yari,” he said.
