James, Curry lead NBA All-Star voting

LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors are both on top of the mountain in NBA All-Star fan voting after the second return, the league announced.

James, 33, leads all vote-getters in both conferences with 1,622,838 while Curry, 29, leads the Western Conference and is second overall with 1,369,658.

Behind James in the Eastern Conference is Milwaukeeโ€™s Giannis Antetokounmpo with 1,480,954 votes. Philadelphiaโ€™s Joel Embiid is the third-leading vote-getter in the East frontcourt category with 784,287.

Former James team-mate Kyrie Irving of the Boston Celtics leads all East guards with 1,370,643. Torontoโ€™s DeMar DeRozan is second among East guards with 537,168 votes and Philadelphia rookie Ben Simmons is third with 397,942.

Curryโ€™s running mate on the Warriors, Kevin Durant, leads all West frontcourt players with 1,326,059 votes while New Orleansโ€™ Anthony Davis (664,687) is second and Golden Stateโ€™s Draymond Green (616,730) is third.

Immediately behind Curry in the West guard category are Houstonโ€™s James Harden (978,540) and reigning NBA MVP Russell Westbrook (791,332) of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Under the new All-Star Game format, the top two vote-getters in each conference will be named team captains and will choose their teams based on the pool of players voted in as starters and reserves.

Voting for the All-Star game for fans, players and media ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday.

The 67th NBA All-Star Game takes place Feb. 18 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
