The incident unfolded at a public beach in Necochea, where three young women decided to remove their tops and sunbathe topless.
At first, three police officer approached the three women and asked them to put on their tops or leave. When they refused, the police officers called for back up.
A large crowd gathered to watch the 20 police officers forcefully removing the topless women from the beach. Witnesses recorded videos of the incident, and uploaded them to the Internet, where they went viral.
The three women were charged with indecent exposure.
In court, Judge Mario Juliano dismissed the charges against the women, saying the being topless on a beach does not harm others and therefore, it is not a crime.
The incident sparked large protests across the country.
Thousands of women walked topless in the streets, demanding that they be allowed to sunbathe naked on public beaches.
