Police are looking to arrest two thieves after they allegedly swindled money from an elderly man by giving him a fake winning lottery ticket, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Police in Manchester, have released images of two men who conned the 80-year-old man out of 10,000 pounds ($12,500) in Moss Side.

Between 1:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the victim was approached by the two men on Moss Lane East.

One of the men told the victim that he had won 500,000 pounds ($611,550) on the lottery, but he did not have a bank account, so he told the elderly man that he would share the winnings with him if he gave him $12,500 in exchange for cashing the ticket.

The two suspects and the victim drove to the elderly manโ€™s home to collect his passport and bank card before driving to the Natwest bank on Wilmslow Road, Didsbury, where he withdrew 5,000 pounds ($6,116).

The two men then drove the victim back to his home, where he took another 5,000 pounds and returned to the car.

All three drove down to Withington, because one of the men claimed he needed to go to a chemist, but claimed he could not collect the medication because he was under 50 years old.

The victim went inside with the lottery ticket for security, but when he returned, the car and his cash were gone. He later tried to claim the money on the ticket, but found out it was fake.
