A teen was arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly beating and biting his girlfriend because she refused to give him a cigarette, according to police in Scotland.
Now, 19-year-old James McCourt of Glasgow, has been sentenced to serve 21 months in prison after being convicted of assault in connection with the beating of 18-year-old Kelsie Skillen.
He was also sentenced to probation for 8 months following his release.
According to the police investigation, McCourt hid his girlfriend’s phone and took away her keys after she refused to give him a cigarette.
He then assaulted her for four hours, during which she went in and out of consciousness. Skillen was repeatedly struck in the head and bitten.
