A father was arrested after trying to get police to help him stop his stepdaughter from sending nude photos of herself on the Internet.
The 57-year-old man of Victoria, Australia, found the nude photos of his wife’s teenage daughter on her phone.
The girl shared the photos along with graphic messages with her boyfriend. When she refused to stop sending the nude photos, the man decided to take action.
He forwarded the photos and messages to his own phone, and then took them to police.
However, detectives refused to look into the matter and ordered the stepfather to delete the inappropriate material from his phone, but he refused, as he was not happy with the way police handled the situation.
The stepfather was arrested on charges of possessing 18 nude photos of a child.
He pleaded guilty to the charges at the Victoria County Court, and he was sentenced to a 12-month good behavior bond.
Judge Jane Patrick said that there was “no suggestion of any exploitation and they were not kept for sexual gratification.”
The man will have to comply with the sex offender register requirements for eight years, including reporting to his probation officer. He is not allowed to work with children.
