A man in California, was sentenced to 1,503 years in prison for raping his daughter for four years.
Judge Edward Sarkisian Jr., said that the 41-year-old father is a
โserious danger to societyโ as he blamed his daughter for raping her since she was 16 years old.
The 1,503 year prison term is the longest sentence handed down by the Fresno Superior Court.
Prosecutor Nicole Galstan said that the girl was first sexually abused by a family friend and when the father learned about the abuse, he began raping her.
โInstead of protecting his daughter, the father turned her into a piece of property and made her feel that the sexual assaults were all her fault,โ Galstan said.
The father, who has not been named to protect the identity of his daughter, had sex with the girl two to three times every week for four years, until she had the courage to run away from home.
The daughter, who is now 23 years old finally went to police and her father was arrested.
A jury found him guilty of 186 felony counts of sexual assault, including many counts of rape of a minor.
The father was offered a plea deal in which he would have receive 13 years in prison, but the man refused to admit his guilt and he argued that he should be freed from prison on time served.
