Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s ex-bodyguard is declassifying information — spilling secrets about how close he grew to the couple’s six children and their fears over kidnapping.
Mark Billingham, who spent 27 years in the British Special Forces, says that he had immediate chemistry with the powerhouse couple.
“We got very close,” Billingham, 51, told London’s The Sun. “I was living with them all the time.”
“I could take the kids anywhere I wanted on my own,” he explained. “No one else was allowed to do that.”
Billingham claims that he grew very close to the Pitt-Jolie children when he worked for them around 2007.
“I took them swimming. I fathered them, basically,” he claimed.
But the bodyguard, who has six children of his own, said he quit after 18 months because the job had become all-consuming.
“I never had a private life,” he added. “I was exhausted. I lost direction in my own family life. In 17 months I was only home for six weeks. It was just too full-on.”
Despite having also worked for Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe, the security specialist says Brangelina were his former clients that lacked the most common sense.
“I found it crazy when they would ask me questions like, ‘How do I go down to that bar?’ and ‘What do I need to do to get there?’”
He continued: “They’re not stupid, but because of the world they live in they just haven’t done something like that for so long. I found that weird.”
But the job wasn’t always that intense. Billingham recalled a time that Pitt locked the car doors while they were all sitting in it and passed gas.
He’s still on good terms with his ex-employers and recently looked after Pax while Jolie went to Iraq for the UN.
But these days, it seems Billingham’s days of protecting celebs is mostly over. He’s the new instructor for the British show, “SAS: Who Dares Wins.”
