Rita Ora was one of many woman accused of having a relationship with Jay Z after his wife Beyoncé hinted at his infidelities on her “Lemonade” track titled “Sorry,” but Ora is now calling those accusations “incredibly rude” and “disrespectful.”
“First and foremost, Jay Z is my inspiration and one of my idols lyrically, musically, business-wise. I still look up to him and his wife every day. Beyoncé was one of my biggest idols growing up,” she told Vanity Fair.
“I find it incredibly rude and disrespectful to women in general [when] we get accused of something that’s basically against the important part, the music,” the 25-year-old singer, who just left Jay Z’s Roc Nation label, added.
Beyoncé sings the line “he better call Becky with good hair” in the song detailing a man cheating, a man who many speculated to be her hubby Jay Z.
Ora posted a Snapchat video of herself sporting lingerie with a lemon print on it following the accusations and also wore a “Not Becky” pin at a Met Gala after party. However, she claimed she and Bey are friends and those items meant nothing.
“That [pin] was a present from Katy Perry,” she explains to the mag. “Maybe I was the only one seen wearing it, but there were others. As for the rest of it, I’m oblivious, I’m just not the gossip queen.”
The same night of the Met Gala, Ora and Queen B showed off their friendship on Snapchat with a photo caption that read “Family” proving there’s no bad blood.
Rita Ora denies rumors she’s ‘Becky’ from Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’
The British pop star also denied the rumors back when they started circulating in April, noting she didn’t normally address “gossip.”
“I never usually address tabloid gossip but let me be clear, these rumours are false,” she tweeted.
