Hugh O’Brian, the star of TV’s “The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp” has died. He was 91.
O’Brian, born Hugh Krampe, died Monday morning with his wife nearby at their Beverly Hills home, his publicist Harlan Boll told the Los Angeles Times.
“Wyatt Earp,” which ran on ABC from 1955-1961, was considered TV’s first Western and turned O’Brian into a household name.
The actor-turned-philanthropist, founded the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Organization in 1958.
In 2006, he married his longtime girlfriend Virginia Barber.
He is survived by his wife, brother Don Krampe and seven nieces and nephews.
