An elementary school teacher was arrested on a charge of indecent assault after allegedly touching the behind of a teenage girl on a crowded train, according to police in Japan.
Kyoto police said that they have arrested 39-year-old Nagi Yamashita, who was a teacher at the Shiga University, after a woman noticed him reaching under the skirt of the 16-year-old girl and touching her behind.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded around 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Yamashita boarded the JR Sagano Line, where he looked for a teenage girl to touch.
The train was very crowded. Yamashita approached the 16-year-old girl from behind and placed his hands under her skirt.
He then touched her behind. When the girl noticed that she was being touched, she began to cry. A woman who noticed the assault, detained the teacher until police arrived at the to arrest him.
During questioning, Yamashita admitted to molesting numerous girls on crowded trains. Yamashita blamed his actions on crowded trains, saying that they make him want to touch young girls.
