The stray dog, who was eventually named by her rescuers, ended up trapped in a storm drain in Northern Peru after scavenging for food in the tunnels, according to La Republica. She tried to escape through a small opening in the wall, and after managing to poke her head out, became stuck.
Local residents eventually came across the pooch and immediately got her some food and water to help her whether the extreme heat, while they figured out how to free her.
The rescuers attempted to dig her out some wiggle room so she could squeeze through the opening, but eventually brought in a power drill to widen the space.
As soon as she was freed, the pooch ran off as though nothing had happened, though she was later found where authorities were able to confirm she was unharmed.
According to La Republica authorities are currently searching for a forever home that can take in the small dog.
