Police have found the remains of a flight attendant who went missing from her workplace.
Police said that 30-year-old Sierra Shields of Queens, New York, was at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, where she worked as a flight attendant.
However, before she was supposed to get onto a Delta Airlines flight, she told her supervisor that she was quitting her job, but she did not give an explanation.
She never made it to the plane and she vanished without a trace. Now, eight months after she went missing, police said a human skull and bones washed up on Rikers Island.
The medical examiner’s office said on Friday, that the bones belong to the missing flight attendant. They will also determined the cause of death.
A family member told investigators that Shields had reached out to a suicide hotline not long before she went missing.
