Angelina Jolie is divorcing Brad Pitt. She filed for divorce on Monday, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Jolie and Pitt wed in August 2014, but have been together since around 2004-2005. They just celebrated their second wedding anniversary last month. But according to Jolie’s legal documents, they separated on September 15, just a few days ago.
In the papers, Jolie requests sole physical custody of their six children. She indicates that Pitt should share joint legal custody, but only receive visitation rights. According to TMZ, Jolie has taken issue with Pitt’s parenting methods, and that led to the split.
Reps for the stars have not yet commented, but an attorney for Jolie says, “This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”
