Lady Gaga’s former stylist-turned-designer just hit a new high: Michelle Obama wore one of his gowns to White House state dinner for the prime minister of Singapore.
Obama chose Brandon Maxwell’s ivory column gown for the occasion, a tailored look that was vaguely reminiscent of Gaga’s dramatic Oscar red carpet pantsuit (also by Maxwell) from earlier this year. The first lady wore her hair pinned back in a sleek updo, accessorizing simply with Butani diamond earrings and a white manicure.
Tuesday night in Washington, President Obama hosted Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and
his wife, Ho Ching at the 12th state dinner.
The black-tie affair โ called by the White House a ‘celebration of
summer bounty’ โ marked the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations
between the U.S. and the city-state, which Obama referred to as an
anchor for the U.S. presence in Southeast Asia.
