A group of wild children were arrested on a charge of robbery and assault after allegedly beating a teenage girl and setting her hair on fire in a park, according to police in Australia.
Melbourne police said that one of the children, a 13-year-old boy, was released from jail just several hours before the vicious attack.
According to the police investigation, the 15-year-old girl was lured to the Cranbourne Road park around 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
A boy a began throwing chocolates at the victim before the other 6 kids, aged between 12 and 14, started beating her. The girl was kicked repeatedly in the face and body.
A boy then used a cigarette lighter to set her hair on fire. The children then took her cellphone and purse, and fled from the scene.
The girl ran home before being taken to the Frankston Hospital with a broken right hand, and severe swelling and bruising on her face.
The children were charged with armed robbery and assault.
