A woman was warned not to call police to report that someone stole her
Pokemon after she called 999 twice to report the virtual thief,
according to police in the United Kingdom.
Gloucestershire police said that the woman, who was not identified, first called 999 on Friday around 11:15 a.m.
She told the dispatcher that someone had stolen her Pokemon as she was
about to catch it. The woman was referring to the popular mobile phone
game Pokemon Go, which launched in the country on Thursday.
After hearing the womanโs complaint, the police dispatcher quickly hung
up the phone. The woman however, called back again, saying that someone
stole her Pokemon and she needed help.
The woman was warned that the 999 line was to report life and death
situations only. The dispatcher quickly hung up the phone again.
No charges have been filed, but that might change if the woman calls again.
