Venezuela, said that they suspended sales of Big Macs in the country due to the escalating food crisis.

Arcos Dorados, which is the company that operates the Mcdonald’s
restaurant in the country, said that the decision was made after the
bakeries were no longer able to supply the them with enough bread.

A spokesperson for Arcos Dorados, said that the company was working to
find a solution to the problem, but cannot give any time frame when the
Big Macs will return to the restaurants.

The company believes that they will be able to sell the Quarter Pounder
and the McNifica, as long as the food crisis doesn’t get worse.

Last year, McDonald’s stopped selling French fries due to a potato shortage.

President Nicolas Maduro is blaming plunging oil prices for the sharp
economic turn down, but opposition leaders are blaming the failed
socialist model introduced by former president Hugo Chavez.
