The cafe is located at Dagu Glacier National Park in western Sichuan province.
Situated at an altitude of 4,860 meters, The cafe has a wonderful panoramic view of the park. After pictures of the mountain top coffee shop got published online, netizens quickly deemed it the “world’s highest and loneliest cafe” — even if neither those accolades are actually true.
While the cafe may be quite remote, that hasn’t stopped travelers from trekking all the way up there — or just taking the cable car. Web users believe it looks like a quiet, secluded place where you can take a break from the havoc of modern life.
Just maybe don’t visit the cafe in the winter, when the temperature outside is at least minus 20 degrees Celsius. Of course, the inside of the cafe is equipped with a heating system that keeps things warm and cozy for guests. Also, people with altitude sickness might want to just give this one a miss and find coffee and serenity elsewhere.
According to People’s Daily, the cafe was completed in June. There’s a cable car to the top of the mountain that will drop you off right there.
