A woman was shocked to receive a fine for wearing a life vest during a
flight and scaring other passengers, according to police in Vietnam.
The Northern Airport Authority said that Nguyen Trung D., was detained
after putting on a life vest during the flight to Ho Chi Minh from Vinh.
Nguyen was charged with using emergency equipment without permission.
She was given a fine of $90. According to the police investigation,
during the flight, Nguyen located the life vest under her seat and put
it on.
She was told that she cannot touch emergency equipment without the
permission of the crew. She was told to put it back under the seat, but
she ignores them.
The flight crew called the police, and Nguyen was detained when the plane arrived at the airport in Ho Chi Minh.
