Police are asking people to stay off the rocks at waterfalls as it has already claimed the lives of many people.
The latest victim is Taylor Terrell, who worked as a news anchor for 41NBC News.
Terrell from Georgia, was getting ready to celebrate her 25th birthday
on Friday. She asked her bosses for the day off and they agreed.
Terrell decided to start the celebration early, and she traveled with a
friend to Rainbow Falls at the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina
on Thursday.
The two were enjoying the view on top of the waterfall, when the news
anchor suddenly slipped and fell from the top of the 150 feet high
waterfall.
Authorities said that the 41NBC News anchor had been wading in the river
flowing above the waterfall when she lost her footing and was swept
downstream at about 8:30 p.m.
Her friend immediately called for help and told a dispatcher: โI’m at
Rainbow Falls. My friend got caught by the current, I don’t know where
she is, and I can’t find her.โ
Rescue workers searched for the woman and recovered her body.
