Tyrese Glasgow, 12, who was described as a “role model” to his
classmates, tragically died in hospital after suddenly taking ill at
home.
In a poignant farewell to the youngster, his heartbroken pals brought
the village of Uppermill, Gtr Manchester, to a standstill as they lined
the streets to watch the funeral cortege drive by.

Over 150 teachers and firefighters, who were on a nearby job at the time, also stood to attention.

Year seven pupil Tyrese, from Saddleworth School, Gtr Manchester, was
described as a “wonderful boy who was a friend to everyone”.

Although the cause of Tyrese’s death on June 15 is currently unknown,
police said there are no suspicious circumstances and a report is being
prepared for the coroner.

Headteacher Matthew Milburn told the congregation at St James’ Church
in Gtr Manchester: “Saddleworth School has lost a role model of a
pupil.
