A man was arrested on a charge of attempting to elude a police vehicle
after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase just because he was
bored, according to police in Washington.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested
30-year-old David B. McNalley, after leading five police agencies on a
high-speed chase fore more than an hour and for 50 miles.

McNalley was charged with three counts of attempting to elude a police
vehicle. He was booked into the Thurston County jail, where he is being
held pending a bail hearing.

According to the police investigation, McNalley sped through an
intersection at Henderson Boulevard SE and 53rd Avenue, around 4:30 p.m.
on Saturday.

He burned rubber with his 1994 Mercury Sable in order to attract the attention of the police officer who tried to pull him over.

He then took off. The chase lasted for more than an hour, and five
police agencies got involved. McNalley passed cars on the shoulder of
the road, reaching 85 miles per hour.

Police placed spike strips in the area of ​​36th Avenue NE and Libby
Road NE. While trying to avoid them, McNalley lost control of the
vehicle and crashed into a fence.

McNalley was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

When asked why he fled from police, he said that he was bored.
