A man who was arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly stabbing
another man on the street, claims he is Jesus and the victim is the
devil, according to police in Colorado.
Colorado Springs police said that the stabbing unfolded around 1:00 p.m.
on Wednesday, at the Kwik Stop on East Platte Avenue near Institute
Street.
Witnesses at the scene said that the suspect held the victim in a choke
hold before stabbing him once. The victim, who was left bleeding as a
result of the attack, was helped by good Samaritans until police arrived
at the scene.
The suspect told police that he is Jesus, and he stabbed the victim
because he was the devil. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he
is being treated and is said to be in critical condition.
Residents said that the area became dangerous as a lot of people with mental illness are roaming the streets.
