A 17-year-old girl in Liaoning province was beaten and abused by her
college roommates after refusing to join them taking the drug methadone.

According to NetEase,
the girl, named Pingping, was one of five female students sharing a
dorm room at the Liaoning Vocational College of Medicine and Chemical
Industry.

While their relationship started out well at the beginning of term in
September of last year, the four began to abuse Pingping in March when
they began taking methadone, a sedative which is used as a substitute in
the treatment of morphine and heroin addiction.

In addition to regular beatings whenever she refused to take the
drug, her roommates made her give them massages, wash their clothes and
clean up their vomit. They threatened to post naked photos of her online
if she told anyone what was going on.

“Methadone made them completely different people, they tried to make
me take the drug with them,” said Pingping. “I don’t have any illness
and didn’t want to take it, so they began to pressure me, beating me
until I was covered all over in bruises.”

Her parents suspected something was wrong when they were told she was
washing clothes whenever they called, but Pingping did not dare tell
them what had happened until the summer holidays began on July 10.

Pingping’s parents have since gone to the police to report the
incident. She is said to be suffering from post-traumatic stress
disorder.
