A woman was arrested on a charge of murder after stabbing her boyfriend
and falling asleep on his chest because he refused to marry her,
according to police in the United Arab Emirates.
Now, the 33-year-old woman, who was not identified, has been sentenced
to serve 10 years in prison and will be deported after being convicted
of murder in connection with the stabbing death of her 40-year-old
boyfriend.
The woman was also convicted of having consensual sex outside marriage
and consuming alcohol without a license. In addition to the prison
sentence, she was ordered to pay $27,225 to her boyfriendโs family.
According to the police investigation, the woman gave her boyfriend two
cars in order to get him to marry her. When the boyfriend told her that
he felt uncomfortable with the relationship, she decided to kill him.
The woman drank a lot of alcohol, and when her boyfriend fell asleep on
his bed, she stabbed him in the chest. He woke up and tried to defend
himself, but she stabbed him twice.
She then fell asleep on his chest. When she woke, the woman called the police.
During questioning, the woman told police that she got angry because he refused to marry her despite giving him two new cars.
