An insurance salesman claims that he became an emotional wreck after a
boy rang his doorbell and ran away, according to court documents in
Illinois.
State Farm insurance agent John Wright of Shorewood, said that he
repeatedly called the police to report that 14-year-old Brennan Papp,
played Ding Dong Ditch because he is an insurance salesman.
Wright also sued the boy’s parents, Rick and Sara Papp. Rick also works as an insurance salesman for State Farm.
Wright told the court that over a period of several weeks, Brennan rang
his doorbell, and when he went to open the door, no one was there.
After the police caught Brennan, he confessed to ringing the doorbell
once. Wright suffered great emotional distress, severe anxiety,
insomnia, and lost weight.
He also required medication treatment in order to function properly.
Wright claims that he lost more than $30,000 in earnings as a result of
the child’s actions.
