People are angry after a dog was found eating a baby who was abandoned by the mother after birth.
According to police in Malawi, the grim discovery was made by a man who was on his way to work. Businessman Steven Lanken was going to work when he spotted the dog eating something that looked like human flesh, police said.
Upon closer inspection, Lanken realized that the dog was eating the remains of a newborn baby.
Authorities were unable to identify whether the deceased was male or female.
Police are working to locate the mother who they believe abandoned the newborn baby in the bushes.
After learning about the horrific incident, residents have renewed their
demands for legislators to legalize abortions in the country.
However, churches are fighting to prevent this legislation from being passed.
