Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier was placed in police
custody following an incident outside a nightclub but has since been
released.

Europe 1 report that the right-back, 23, was taken into
custody a little after 06:00 CET on Monday after an incident in the
Champs-Elysees quarter of Paris.
It is alleged that the Ivory
Coast international was part of a group that insulted officers
patrolling the area, with the PSG man said to have made wounding remarks
towards the police.

Aurier was held in a police station in the 8th arrondissement of Paris for several hours before being released.

A source told AFP the defender had “insulted and struck a police officer”.

It is the latest in a line of controversies that the full-back has been involved in since moving to PSG in the summer of 2014.

In March 2015 he was handed a three-match suspension by UEFA after
posting a video on social networks of him insulting the referee of the
Chelsea-PSG Champions League tie.

More seriously, in the view of the club, at the beginning of this
year he made numerous insulting remarks towards team-mates and coach
Laurent Blanc during a Periscope chat, which landed him a lengthy
internal ban.

Aurier was eventually allowed to play for PSG again after apologising to all of his targets.
