As part of efforts to ensure that the Super Eagles come out victorious in their next two matches in the on-going 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has said that it is making arrangements to see that Coach Stephen Keshi signs his contract before the tie coming up in October.
NFF general secretary Musa Amadu who confirmed this in Abuja also rubbished insinuations in certain quarters that the coach may not be given a new contract due to the team’s poor outing against Congo and South Africa.
“I cannot see how the coach’s contract will affect the performance of the team.
“I know that it is critically important that the coach signs his contract to secure his future and know exactly what is due to him. I am sure we will be able to sort out those things before the next two games against Sudan,” Amadu assured.
On the issue of the controversial elective Congress of the NFF, Amadu said it is not true that the Congress has been scheduled to take place in Warri stressing that what will take place in the oil rich town this weekend on September 20 is the Congress that will approve the date and venue for the election.
“As far as election and the two congresses are concerned, I have made the agenda clear that the executive committee will propose to the congress a roadmap. I can confirm to you that the first extraordinary general assembly will take place on September 20 in Warri Delta State”.
He explained that the date that has been proposed for the elective Congress is still tentative until approved by the general assembly.
