Former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari narrowly escaped death in the second bomb blast that rocked Kaduna on Wednesday.
The convoy of the leader of the All Progressive Congress was reportedly targeted by gunmen who fired shots at the vehicles.
The Nation gathered that, General Buhari was on his way out of Kaduna to his country home (Daura), when the bomb exploded and affected his convoy and his personal car.
Eyewitnesses told our Correspondent that, the General was brought out of his Prado Jeep unhurt and whisked away in another vehicle.
Even though, Buhariโs spokesman could not be reached at the time of filing this report, one jeep which was said to be in his convoy was seen completely burnt down as at the time The Nation visited the scene.
Confirming the incident at the scene of the blast, the Police Commissioner confirmed that the bomber targeted a prominent Nigerian, even though he refused be specific on whether it was Buhari or not.
An Islamic cleric, Dahiru Bauchi who was targeted in the first explosion also survived the attack.
