The 16 year-old faced a disciplinary panel on Friday after testing positive in sample A and Sample B, therefore, she has been stripped of the medal she won in the Women 53kg weight category.
A statement from the panel read in part: โThe Commonwealth Games Federation has determined that Nigerian weightlifter, Chika Amalaha, has committed an anti-doping rule violation and has fully suspended her from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
โAs a result, Amalaha has been disqualified from her event at the Games, with her result in the competition nullified.โ
Papua New Guinea’s Dika Toua is now awarded the Gold medal, having finished second behind Amalaha.
Along with the strip, her #Glasgow2014 Commonwealth Games record as the youngest Gold medalist, with a weight pull of 196kg is nullified.
