United send email to fans informing them that Ipads and Tablets will not be allowed in the Old Trafford: New York Yankees banned mobile gadgets from its ground in 2010

In the coming season kicking off on Saturday 16, fans and supporters of English Premiership side, Manchester United will not be allowed to come in with their 21 century gadgets and devices.

The club is taking it tough on the fact that spectators come in with recording devices, thereby capturing most of the matches on their phones or tablets which in some way infringes on the exclusive viewing rights of some rights buyers.

Some fans also complain of fellow spectators blocking their views in the process of recording play.

Before the club’s game tonight, Tuesday which also is Van Gaal’s first game at Old Trafford, Manchester United officials sent emails informing the fans on the new directive:

”We want to make you aware of an update to our club policy regarding home matches. Supporters cannot bring large electronic devices (bigger than 150mmx100mm) inside the stadium.

”For example, iPads or other tablet devices and laptops are now prohibited. Also please be aware that large bags, large cameras and liquids (with the exception of a small bottle of water with the top removed) are included in our list of prohibited items. Thank you for your co-operation on this matter.”

Manchsester United becomes second club to ban such devices from their ground after American Baseball club New York Yankees did same in 2010 but later lifted it two years later.
