A mistress panicked after her elderly lover passed out while swimming naked with her in a lake, police in Austria said.
Poysdorf police said that 66-year-old Rudolf R, died while swimming
naked in the lake along with his 44-year-old mistress, who was not
identified.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on
Saturday, when temperature was around 95 degrees. In the evening, Rudolf
met his mistress and they went out for a few drinks.
The lovers then decided to cool off in the lake near a hotel.
They were both naked when Rudolf drowned, pulling his lover underwater
with him. The cause of death was probably a heart attack, police said.
A waitress at the hotel with the help of other staff members, took the
44-year-old woman out in time after hearing her cries for help.
She was stabilized and taken to the AKH Vienna General Hospital.
However, Rudolf could not be rescued, and he was pronounced dead at the
scene.
No charges have been filed as there was no evidence of foul play. The
following day, a police officer notified Rudolf’s wife about the
circumstances behind his death.
