A 21-year-old San Ramon man who is believed to have drugged and sexually assaulted at least seven women he met on social networks such as Tinder and Facebook was sentenced to 20 years in prison, police said Tuesday.

Kwangmin Jin pleaded no contest to six counts of rape while intoxicated in Alameda County Superior Court on Thursday and agreed to serve a 20-year sentence as part of a plea bargain, the Fremont Police Department announced.

Jin was suspected of raping at least seven unconscious women throughout the Bay Area from May to August 2015, detectives said. He used the aliases Kevin Park, Kevin Jin, Jeremy Lee and Kevin Lee to connect with his victims on meet-up applications and websites including Tinder, Facebook, MocoSpace and Skout.

Jin gave his victims an alcoholic beverage tainted with Xanax when he met them in person. The drugs left the women unconscious for several hours while he raped them, officials said.

An investigation into the assaults led to Champaign, Illinois, where Fremont Police arrested him Sept. 23 with the assistance of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Police. He was later extradited to Alameda County.

Fremont police said more victims could be in the Bay Area, but may have little knowledge of what happened because of the sedative.
