Several people were wounded in a blast at a wedding ceremony in southeastern Turkey’s Gaziantep province late on Aug. 20, the regional governor said.

Eight people were killed and 60 were wounded in the blast, according to Reuters.

Gaziantep Governor Ali Yerlikaya told Anadolu Agency that the “terror attack” took place in Akdere neighborhood of Şahinbey district.

Ambulances have been dispatched to the scene, Yerlikaya added.

Ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputy Şamil Tayyar said the initial data pointed to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) as the suspect.
