In a bizarre incident, a woman was charged with murder because police shot and killed her boyfriend.

The woman of Arizona, was charged under a law, which states that if a killing occurs during the commission of certain felonies then the person who was involved in committing the felony can be charged with murder.

Jessica Hicks, 25, who is a mother of three children, was with her boyfriend when they committed a carjacking.

The couple led police on a high-speed chase. During the chase, 26-year-old Craig Uran drove into a parking garage, where he ditched the stolen vehicle that he was driving.

He then carjacked Vicky Lopez, who is an attorney, by telling her that he had a gun. Hicks allegedly helped her boyfriend grab the keys from Lopez so that he can drive away with the car.

Police continued to follow the couple, and during the chase, Phoenix police officer David Norman shot and killed Uran, who was a convicted felon.

While Officer Norman has since been cleared of any wrongdoing, Hicks faces up to life in prison if she is convicted of the charge.
