Kanye West showed off dozens of multiracial models during his Yeezy Season 4 fashion show on Wednesday despite receiving backlash for his controversial casting call, where social media users accused the rapper of only wanting light-skinned women in his show.
There were both light- and dark-skinned women lining the runway which was actually the grassy fields of Roosevelt Island on Wednesday in a variety of neutral colored designs by the rapper.
“Hmm @ multiracial women only,” one user replied to the casting call, which West posted to Twitter on Saturday. “Does that include the dark skinned multiracial women or just the light skinned ones?”
The “Jesus Walks” singer addressed the controversy over his call for “multiracial women only” in an interview with Vogue. The “Famous” artist told the mag that the request was never meant to exclude anyone, especially black women.
“The ten thousand people that showed up didn’t have a problem with it,” West said.
“How do you word the idea that you want all variations of black? How do you word that exactly?” he added.
Teyana Taylor, who starred in West’s recent music video for the song, “Fade,” made her way down the catwalk in an under-boob revealing sweater and a pair of tight black biker shorts.

The show also included pairs of fully clear rain boots — the same ones that West’s wife Kim Kardashian was spotted wearing this week.
The boots, however, weren’t the only items you could see through. Many of the models were wearing transparent bodysuits and skirts.
In addition to the field of beautiful women donning West’s designs, his own family came out to show their support. Kim, along with her sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Kylie’s boyfriend, Tyga, were also in attendance at the New York event.
Ye ended the show with a brief smile before quickly jetting back down the runway.
